Over the past 25 years I've have spent a lot of time in doctors’ offices seeing artwork on the walls that did not quite fit the feel of a physician's office. I saw yellowing photographs of vague lakes, mountains, and fields, images of cats and birds with quotes meant to inspire, and cartoon depictions of body parts and factoids. Frankly, this type of artwork seemed stale and had little to no clinical relevance.  For this reason, I started Survivor Artwork as a way to do things differently — to decorate medical offices with abstract artwork that has meaning and purpose while raising money for cancer research and care. At Survivor Artwork, we believe that decorating walls with clinically relevant medical art is a way to create a more inspiring, and educational space for patients and clinicians. Our pieces often stem in-depth conversations from both patients and office staff members. We are creating an ecosystem of artwork from the very patients that are fighting these diseases (artwork that fights).
